VISITING VOLUNTEERING
If we could sum up in one word what our volunteers are trained to do, it would be to "LISTEN". Volunteers are trained over a 30-hour course that includes topics such as "What to say to a Dying Person", Palliative Care/Hospice concepts, Needs of the Terminally Ill and Their Families, Loss and Bereavement and Grief, and Listening Skills.
You are supported throughout the entire training and then supported when you receive your first assignment. We focus on the living, not the dying of each of our patients and their families.
