The Crossroads Hospice Coffeehouse performance schedule is now in place so make a New Year's resolution to join us! Doors open at 7:00pm with an open stage at 7:30pm. The featured performer takes the stage at 9:00pm. Our location is The Gathering Place, 2253 Leigh Square, Port Coquitlam.

Here's the 2010 schedule for your review:

  • Jan 8 - Gillian Hobbs
Gillian Hobbs is one of BC's finest emerging singer/songwriters.
Influenced by Canadian legends like Joni Mitchell and Sarah McLachlan, Gillian's music is captivating and empowering. Please visit: www.gillianhobbs.com for information on Gillian and where you can purchase her debut album, 'Something to Write Home About'.

  • Jan 22 – Doug Rolling and "Blues Got the Dog"
A popular performer and MC at our coffeehouse, Doug describes himself as having his "heart in the country, but his soul in the blues". A singer/songwriter for 20 years in BC and Ontario, he serves up not-often-heard styles of Travis picking and slide guitar, along with some lovingly treated golden oldies.

  • Feb 12 - Olympic-Free Zone Open Stage
Turn on your video recorder for the Opening Ceremonies so you can zap all the commercials - and come to our Open Stage night! We'll be there and ready to listen to a dozen people entertain us.

  • Feb 26 - Don Kellett Review
Don Kellett has been involved with the guitar and music for over 40 years. Don plays a wide variety of musical styles in a number of different music groups a partnerships and over the years has added Mandolin and Steel guitar to his arsenal of instruments. Don will perform some of his favourites tunes (along with some originals) with the assistance of Susan Vigneux and (possibly) other musical partners.

  • Mar 12 - Tony Prophet
Tony Prophet is a seasoned entertainer, great singer and a masterful guitar player who always gets any crowd involved in the fun. From his early success in country music (with three charted hits in Canada), Tony has evolved into a superior family entertainer. Last summer, in addition to entertaining, Tony was the master of ceremonies for Port Moody's Golden Spike festival, the Blue Mountain Festval, and events in Surrey and Burnaby.

  • Mar 26 - Al Foreman
"I've enjoyed entertaining for over forty years. I will be providing a mix of material ranging from blues and boogie woogie to ballads and original material. A career in Music therapy for the past 10 years has provided a great source of musical inspiration, and I look forward to sharing some of these stories and repertoire with your audience."

  • Apr 9 - Pam Goessaert
A seasoned musician hailing from Northeast Coquitlam, Pam brings with her a collection of up and coming young musicians as well as her long standing bandmates. Her original tunes are a contemporary mix of folk/blues with a rock twist. Last season she was a sell out show. Pam's gutsy, dynamic vocals combined with strong harmonies and a great band will surely entertain you.

  • Apr 23 - Steve Alexander
Steve plays many styles but is also a two-time Western Canada Championship bluegrass guitar player and a great songwriter. The hilarious "Let's Enjoy A Senior's Moment" has become the title track for two recent CD releases in Canada and the US. Don't miss this witty, thoughtful singer/songwriter!

  • May 7 – Pancho and Sal
Born in Argentina, Pancho has been writing poems all his life. When he moved to Europe, he began touring in many countries and became a troubadour style musician in the 80’s in Sweden. With the Gypsies in the South of France, he created his new dimension of flamenco guitar and rhythms. After many years of musical exchange with other musicians, his music has a wide diversity of styles. Sal, who was born in England and raised in Canada, started playing accordion and clarinet at an early age. She met Pancho in Peru and compliments the music with accordion, shakers, chachas, bombo and guitar. Singing in Spanish, English and French, their music and translations inspire.

  • May 28 - Coastal Sound Youth Choir
The Coastal Sound Youth Choir is an auditioned ensemble of 50 singers ranging in age from 14-22. The choir rehearses once a week and is a proud member of the Coastal Sound Family of Choirs. Extremely enthusiastic and very energetic, this close knit group strives to create meaningful connections between the singers, their repertoire, and each audience. They are very excited to be sharing the stage this season with the worldrenowned vocal groups Musica Intima and The Nylons.
